Opportunities
Students interested in pursuing a PhD in the group are encouraged to apply to CAOS or DCCC through the IISc PhD admission process.
I am always happy to hear from students with strong backgrounds in mathematics, physics, or engineering, or related areas, who are highly motivated to work on problems in climate dynamics or the science and policy of energy transitions.
If you think the group's work may be a good match for your interests, please look through some recent papers and the Research Group page, and write to me with a brief description of your background and research interests, and include a CV.
I welcome inquiries from researchers with strong backgrounds in climate dynamics and modelling, applied mathematics, economics, or related fields, and a publication record appropriate to their career stage. If you are interested, please email me with a brief description of your background, research interests, and ideas for possible research directions. Researchers with their own fellowship proposal ideas are especially welcome to get in touch.
I am happy to discuss research directions in case there is a good fit. Funding may be explored through institutional fellowships (e.g., ANRF-NPDF).
Unfortunately, I am unable to guide short-term project students unless they are already enrolled in an academic (degree-granting) program at IISc.
To get in touch about PhD or postdoctoral opportunities, please email ashwins@iisc.ac.in with a CV and a brief note about your interests.
